Border collie helps find rescuers after owner falls 70 feet in California, group says


A border collie is being credited as a real-life Lassie after helping to rescue a man who fell 70 feet in California.The dog's 53-year-old owner had broken his hip and ribs in the fall on Wednesday, the Nevada County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue organization said on Facebook.About 25 members of the volunteer group had responded after fire officials requested help in searching for the man in a forest.The border collie ran about 200 yards to locate rescuers and then led them back to where the man was located, covered in a camouflage tarp, NCSSAR said.Rescuers took the man to where an air ambulance could help transport him to safety.The dog was then taken to get a "was given a well-deserved dinner."Watch the video above for the full story.
