Cincinnati soccer fans prepare to welcome USMNT for Concacaf Gold Cup


Cincinnati will be in the middle of the international soccer scene once again this weekend. The Concacaf Gold Cup Quarterfinals come to TQL Stadium Sunday, July 9.This is the stadium's first-ever double-header match. Fans will get to watch Jamaica vs. Guatemala take the pitch at 5 p.m., followed by USA vs. Canada at 7 p.m. This visit is extra special for FC Cincinnati fans. Two players from the team, forward Brandon Vazquez and defender Matt Miazga were called up to play for the national team during the tournament. Vazquez has scored two goals in the tournament so far."We're proud of Miazga and Vazquez and that they're on the team. So it's even more exciting that we get to go support the country and the club. It really means everything," Elizabeth Wagner, a local fan, said.Tickets for the match are still available, but if you can't make it, there's still plenty to do. The official American Outlaws "Night Before Party" is Saturday, July 8. It starts at 6 p.m. at The Pitch. Organizers say they're expecting fans from across the country."American Outlaws all over the country will be here. We're expecting about 500 people to come drink, hang out, get pumped for , learn some chants and some cheers," Andrew Maloney said. The event is family-friendly.Then Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m., the pre-match tailgate is at Northern Row Brewery and Distillery. Fans can expect food and a special light lager made specifically with the American Outlaws in mind."It's a co-branded hand here that we developed. So, it has the American Outlaws logo along with the Northern Red logo," said Brenden Douglass, the operations manager.
