A HORRIFIC CRASH AGAIN, WHICH IS CERTAINLY CAUSING A LOT OF DELAYS HERE IN NORTHERN BUTLER COUNTY. GETTING IDEA OF WHAT THIS LOOKS LIKE, THIS INCIDENT TAKING PLACE ABOUT 4:30 THIS MORNING. WE UNDERSTAND IT IS A TWO VEHICLE ACCIDENT, THREE PEOPLE INJURED ON SCENE. ONE INDIVIDUAL PRONOUNCED DEAD ON THE SCENE AS WELL, CONFIRMED BY THE BUTLER COUNTY SHERIFF’S. THIS ACCIDENT TAKING PLACE ABOUT 4:15. A CARE FLIGHT TRYING TO RESPOND, TO GIVE AN IDEA OF HOW HORRIFIC THIS IS. TRAFFIC BACKED UP, BUT THIS CARE FLIGHT HELICOPTER IS ON ITS SIDE. IT WAS REPORTED INITIALLY AS A HARD LANDING, BUT THAT HELICOPTER IS DOWN. YOU CAN SEE THE ROTORS ARE UP ON THE SIDES BEHIND THE BUTLER COUNTY SHERIFF’S VEHICLE. IT IS OBSCURED, IT IS BEHIND SOME TREES, IN A FIELD. WE UNDERSTAND THE HELICOPTER WENT DOWN JUST AFTER THIS ACCIDENT, SOMETIME AROUND 4:30, 4:45 THIS MORNING. THREE PEOPLE INJURED, ANOTHER PERSON PRONOUNCED DEAD ON THE SCENE. THERE IS A MAJOR BACKUP, AS BUTLER COUNTY SHERIFF’S, ALONG WITH HAMILTON POLICE, CONTINUE TO WORK THE SCENE. THIS WILL BE A LONG AND DETAILED PROCESS AS THEY CONTINUE THEIR INVESTIGATION, DETERMINING THE CAUSE OF THE ACCIDENT AND NOW, WITH THE CONVOCATIONS OF THE CARE FLIGHT HELICOPTER DOWN, CERTAINLY ADDING TO THIS DIFFICULT SCENE. IT WILL MOVE ALONG THAT LINE TO SOUTHERN INDIANA AND LIKELY THE HEAVIEST DOWNPOURS WILL STAY FURTHER SOUTH TOWARD MOBILE AND LEXINGTON. IN OUR AREA, THE FURTHER SOUTH YOU ARE LOCATED ON THE OHIO RIVER, THE BETTER CHANCE YOU HAVE FOR HEAVIER RAIN AS WE GET THROUGH THE DAY. TEMPERATURES TOPPING OUT ONLY IN THE 70’S.
