The Skyline Chili Crosstown Showdown is heading into its 25th year of bringing fans some of the top high school football matchups in Greater Cincinnati.
The schedule for this year's Skyline Chili Crosstown Showdown, presented by Meijer and Mercy Health Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine, was announced Wednesday evening at a VIP Party at Skyline Chili in downtown Cincinnati.

Here's which area high school football teams will take the field in the Showdown this fall:
Week 1
Huber Heights Wayne at Fairfield, 7 p.m. (Thursday, Aug. 18)
Taft at Roger Bacon, 7 p.m. (Thursday, Aug. 18)
"(Roger Bacon) Coach (Mike) Blaut, he's a great coach who always has his guys prepared. He's been doing it for a long time, even when I was in high school I knew about him," Taft head coach Tyler Williams said of the matchup. "My uncle went there (Roger Bacon) and played under him when he was an assistant coach, so I know he'll have his guys ready and it'll be a great game."

"Obviously, they (Kings) are a great program, kind of like Winton Woods. We've been doing it really well for a long, long time. It's gonna be a great game and it being a Skyline Crosstown Showdown game, it makes that much bigger," Winton Woods head coach Chad Murphy said of the matchup between Eastern Cincinnati Conference foes.

"I think it's been a great rivalry game and that's why it's so special. We're one of two districts that have one middle school that goes into two high schools. They go to school for two years together and everybody is friends, then one Friday night a year we play a great game," Anderson head coach Evan Dreyer said of the matchup. "It's an unbelievable crowd and unbelievable atmosphere for our kids. The game usually comes down to the wire. It's a really special feeling when you walk down the steps or walk up the hill on Bartels Road; it's like playing in a playoff game."
