As the New York Giants prepare to host the Cincinnati Bengals in their second preseason game, Giants defensive coordinator Don "Wink" Martindale - a foe familiar to Cincinnati from his time with the Baltimore Ravens - answered questions about a suggestion from Patriots head coach Bill Belichick that the Giants blitzed a lot against New England in the preseason opener between the two teams.
Martindale borrowed a response Belichick made famous: "We're on to Cincinnati." And he smiled as he repeated it.

Last December, Martindale said he didn't think they were ready to buy a gold jacket for Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow. Burrow said after Cincinnati defeated Baltimore that he didn't think Martindale's remark was necessary.
In Oct. 2020, Martindale was unhappy about a field goal the Bengals kicked in the final minute of a 27-3 loss in Baltimore to avoid a shutout.
