After more than 90,000 name suggestions from all 50 states and more than 60 countries around the world, the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden has narrowed down the name ideas for Bibi the hippo's new male calf to two favorites: Fritz or Ferguson.
Bibi gave birth to a healthy, full-term calf last week, a boy, making the world-famous Fiona a new big sister. The zoo announced the sex of the calf, a male, on Monday.

The zoo has been taking name submissions for the last week, and said that both Fritz or Ferguson "sound great with Fiona." The zoo care team's final decision for the name will be announced on Aug. 15. The final two name suggestions were announced on NBC's "Today" show Thursday morning.
Until then, voting for either name option is available on the zoo's website, CincinnatiZoo.org.
Bibi and the calf will continue to be inside for another week or two to nurse and bond, as they do in the wild. Fiona and the new hippo's dad, Tucker, will remain outside and visible to visitors.
