3 dead after head-on collision in Clermont County

CURTIS THAT STRETCHER ROAD HAS SEEN ITS FAIR SHARE OF TRAGEDIES IN THIS MORNING’S CRASH KILLED THREE PEOPLE AND AS YOU CAN IMAGINE NEIGHBORS ARE DEVASTATED TELLING US SOMETHING HAS TO CHANGE BEFORE IT HAPPENS AGAIN. IT’S HEARTBREAKING TO HAVE THIS HAPPEN HERE. SO MANY TIMES GETTING CHOKED UP. IT’S HARD TO BLAME DAN RECTOR AFTER THE MORNING. HE’S WELL, I SAW A MAN CRYING. UP FROM THE AMBULANCE. I KNEW SOMEBODY HAD PASSED AWAY AND HE WAS JUST SCREAMING. NO, NO, AND I TELL YOU WHAT. REALLY TOUCHED ME THE MAN, I HAD ON CRASH ON ROUTE 125 THAT LEFT THREE PEOPLE DEAD HIGHWAY PATROL TELLS US 66 YEAR OLD DEBORAH MEL WAS DRIVING HER HONDA CIVIC EASTBOUND WHEN IT CROSSED THE CENTER LINE AND HIT A TOYOTA COROLLA TROOPERS. SAY THE DRIVER OF THAT CAR 35 YEAR OLD JEFFREY CHAPMAN AND 34 YEAR OLD. RACHEL MILLER WAS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. NEITHER. WE’RE WEARING A SEAT BELT. HONESTLY, I’M GETTING REALLY TIRED OF SEEING PEOPLE GETTING KILLED HERE RICHTER LIVES LONG THIS STRETCH OF ROUTE 125. SUNDAY’S FATAL CRASH THE THIRD TRAGEDY HE’S HAD TO WITNESS. Three people have died in a head-on collision in Clermont County, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.Troopers say the crash happened around 8:52 a.m. Sunday on State Route 125 at milepost 11 in Tate Township.Official say preliminary investigation shows a 2016 Honda Civic was traveling eastbound on SR 125 when it crossed over the centerline and hit a 2004 Toyota Corolla.Officials say three people - Deborah Mell, 66, the driver of the Civic; Jeffery Champan, 35, the driver of the Corolla; and Racheal Miller, 34, a passenger in the Corolla - all sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene.Troopers say Mell was wearing a seatbelt. Chapman and Miller, officials say, were not.The crash remains under investigation by troopers.
