Severe weather threat: Tracking off and on storms, some strong, Saturday
OF ILLINOIS, THAT’S WHERE YOU SEE THIS LONG LINE OF STORMS AND A LOT OF ACTION OUT THERE THAT IS MOVING THROUGH ILLINOIS, GETTING CLOSER TO WESTERN INDIANA. YOU SEE THAT TO OUR SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH. THAT’S A YELLOW HERE THAT IS EXTENDING IT THROUGH PARTS OF INDIANA. NOT YET EXTENDED INTO OUR REGION. BUT WE WILL BE WATCHING FOR THAT HERE OVER THE NEXT HOUR OR SO. WE’RE KIND OF WATCHING HOW THE STORMS DEVELOP AS WELL AS THE STORM PREDICTION CENTER, WHO ISSUES THOSE WATCHES IN THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE. SO RIGHT NOW, THEY’RE JUST UNDER ABOUT 200 MILES AWAY. SO YOU SEE SOME STORMS AHEAD OF THIS FIRST POINT I PUT ON EARLIER. BUT THAT’S TIMING OUT AROUND 5 HOURS OR JUST UNDER 5 HOURS NOW AT THIS POINT INTO OUR REGION. SO IT IS GETTING CLOSE TO THAT. AND 11:00 ALMOST MIDNIGHT TIMEFRAME. SO AS WE WERE MENTIONING YESTERDAY, THE CONCERT GETTING OUT AROUND 1130. SO THAT’S WHY I MENTION A GOOD DEAL, A GOOD DECISION TO MOVE THAT CONCERT UP FOR TODAY. WE DO HAVE A SEVERE THREAT WITH THESE STORMS AS WELL. A SLIGHT RISK LEVEL. TWO OUT OF FIVE FROM THIS STORM PREDICTION CENTER. AGAIN, MUCH LIKE LAST NIGHT WITH THAT LITTLE COMPLEX AS STORMS THAT MOVE THROUGH MAIN THREATS ARE GOING TO BE WINDS AGAIN IN THESE STORMS ALONG WITH LIGHTNING, WHICH IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR ANY OUTDOOR EVENTS WHERE RATHER NOT IMPORTANT, BUT RATHER IMPORTANT TO PAY ATTENTION TO IF YOU ARE OUTDOORS. SO LET’S LOOK AT THIS TRACK AGAIN ON FEATURE CAST MODELS HAVE A FEW OF THESE STORMS STARTING TO PUSH INTO PARTS OF EASTERN INDIANA CLOSE TO NINE 10:00 AND THEN MOVING HERE INTO PARTS OF CINCINNATI AS WE GET CLOSER TO THAT 11:00 HOUR. SO BETWEEN 1011 AND THEN PAST 11, THAT’S WHEN WE’RE REALLY WATCHING FOR THAT MAIN THREAT OF STORMS MOVING IN HERE WITH THOSE STRONG WINDS, HEAVY DOWNPOURS HOURS AND SOME LIGHTNING IN THAT FORECAST. WE HAD SOME RAIN THIS MORNING THAT COULD MAYBE LIMIT IT A LITTLE BIT AS THOSE STORMS MOVE IN. BUT WE’VE ALSO HAD A LOT OF SUNSHINE THAT ARE NOW HELPING BOOST THOSE TEMPERATURES UP INTO THE EIGHTIES. NOW, AS WE GO INTO SUNDAY, A FEW SCATTERED SHOWERS, MAYBE A RUMBLES THUNDER AS WE GO THROUGH THE OVERNIGHT INTO YOUR SUNDAY MORNING. BUT WE GET THROUGH THE AFTERNOON LOOKING PRETTY DRY FOR US AND THEN THROUGH THE EVENING YOU’LL SEE THOSE STORMS KIND OF RAMPING BACK UP IN THE FORECAST. AND WE COULD SEE ANOTHER SEVERE THREAT OUT OF THOSE STORMS ON SUNDAY EVENING. AND THE BETTER THREAT RIGHT NOW, LOOKING MORE TO THE SOUTH AND SOUTHEAST. THAT’S WHERE THE SLIGHT RISK IS. WE’RE UNDER A MARGINAL RISK, A GOOD PORTION OF OUR REGION THAT’S A LEVEL ONE OUT OF FIVE FROM THE STORM PREDICTION CENTER. SO THAT IS ANOTHER THREAT AS WE ARE GOING TO BE WATCHING HERE THROUGH TOMORROW AS WELL. BUT AS WE GO THROUGH THE SEVEN DAY, ONCE WE GET PAST THIS BUSY WEEKEND OF STORMS AND CONCERTS AND ALL OF KINDS EVENTS, WE’LL SEE THOSE TEMPERATURES JUST DIP SLIGHTLY DOWN INTO THE LOWER EIGHTIES. MONDAY, 4TH OF JULY, LOOKING PRETTY GOOD FOR US. IT’S GOING TO BE WARM AND STEAMY, BUT IT IS JULY, SO WE SHOULD BE EXPECTING THAT. BUT FIREWORKS SHOWS SHOULD BE GOOD TO GO THERE ON TUESDAY AND THEN THROUGH THE REST OF THE WEEK, IT’S VERY LIKE WITH 80 STAYING IN THE FORECAST AN
