Child dies after being shot in Madisonville; responding officer injured

A child is dead after being found suffering from a gunshot wound in Madisonville, according to Cincinnati police Lt. Jonathan Cunningham.It happened around 5:30 p.m. when officers responded to a 911 call for a report of a child shot in the 6000 block of Roe Street.Cunningham said a child under the age of 5 was found suffering from a gunshot wound. The child was taken to Children's Hospital where they were pronounced dead. "This is unacceptable," Cunningham said. CPD Homicide Unit is on scene to determine what led to the shooting. No suspect information has been released. A responding officer was not shot but did suffer a minor injury when police first arrived on scene, Cunningham confirmed.
