Zach Collaros wins second straight CFL Most Outstanding Player award

Zach Collaros of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers

Former Cincinnati Bearcats standout quarterback Zach Collaros was named the Canadian Football League's Most Outstanding Player on Thursday night for the second consecutive year.

Collaros has led the Winnipeg Blue Bombers to the CFL's championship game, the Grey Cup, against the Toronto Argonauts. The Blue Bombers are seeking their third consecutive title.

The 109th Grey Cup is scheduled to be played Sunday at Mosaic Stadium in Regina, Saskatchewan.

Collaros injured his ankle during the fourth quarter of the Blue Bombers' West Division final win against the B.C. Lions. He missed practice Wednesday and Thursday, but said Thursday that he'll practice Friday and play Sunday.

Collaros led Winnipeg to a Grey Cup title last year with an overtime win against the Hamilton Ticats. He earned Grey Cup MVP honors.

Collaros' first Grey Cup win with Winnipeg came in 2019.
