Offensive explosion leads Xavier past Georgetown in Big East opener

WASHINGTON, D.C. ‒ There was an offensive explosion at Capital One Arena on Friday night and it was Xavier's offense that did the most damage.

The Musketeers beat Georgetown 102-89 and scored 59 points in the second half.

Xavier went 24-of-35 from the field after halftime with nine 3-pointers. The Musketeers went 14-of-26 from beyond the arc for the game.

Souley Boum led all scorers with 28 points, including 10 straight points in the second half to help the Musketeers separate.

Jack Nunge went for 18 points and 12 rebounds. Zach Freemantle had 17 points. Adam Kunkel hit five 3-pointers and finished with 15 points. Colby Jones had 12 points and eight assists.
