FC Cincinnati to open campaign at home for first time in club history


For the first time in club history, FC Cincinnati will open its season at home.Major League Soccer unveiled its 2023 fixture Tuesday, which will see the Orange and Blue open the year at TQL Stadium against the Houston Dynamo on Saturday, Feb. 25.The matchup with the Dynamo will mark the first time in the club's eight-year history (three in USL, five in MLS) that FCC will open their campaign at home.FCC is 1-0-1 against the Dynamo since joining MLS, with the last meeting coming on July 3, 2021 at PNC Stadium in Houston. The match ended in a 1-1 draw.Previous season openers as an MLS side include trips to Austin (5-0 loss), Nashville (2-2 draw), New York (Red Bull, 3-2 loss) and Seattle (4-1 loss).Dating back to the club's USL days, FCC is 1-5-1 all-time in season openers, with the lone victory coming in the opening match of the 2018 season, the club's last in USL (1-0 win at Charleston).
