In a vote that ended Dec. 23, Cincinnati.com readers selected the Cincinnati Enquirer Athletes of the Week, presented by Mercy Health, from high school sports action through Dec. 18.
Winners will receive certificates by the end of the sports season.
The Athlete of the Week voting occurs during all high school sports seasons and recognizes athletes across all sports.

Ohio boys basketball team of the week: Moeller – After starting the season 0-3, Moeller is now back to .500 after beating Alter 49-29 and Hughes 68-27.
Ohio girls basketball team of the week: West Clermont – The Wolves picked up a pair of conference wins against Walnut Hills and Loveland to improve to 7-0 overall.
Northern Kentucky/Indiana boys basketball team of the week: Conner – Conner topped Cooper on Dec. 18 and Cincinnati College Pre on Dec. 18 to be winners in four of its last five games.
Northern Kentucky/Indiana girls basketball team of the week: Beechwood – The Tigers have won four in a row after beating Reading 52-38 and Frankfort 65-56.
Boys winter team of the week: La Salle wrestling – La Salle took first in the SWOWCA Coaches Classic, scoring 203 points, 53 more than second place.
Girls winter team of the week: Mercy McAuley swimming – Against Seton on Dec. 18, the Wolves’ relay teams took both the 200 and 400-meter free relay events.
Ohio big-school boys basketball player of the week: Aaron Odum, Walnut Hills – Odum had 21 points on 8-of-11 shooting to go with nine rebounds and four assists in Walnut Hills’ 69-60 win over West Clermont Dec. 13.
Ohio small-school boys basketball player of the week: Luke Sanders, Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy– Sanders put up 31 points on 12-of-18 shooting along with four rebounds and four steals in CHCA’s 80-49 win over North College Hill Dec. 16.
Ohio big-school girls basketball player of the week: Riley Wood, Lakota East – Wood had 12 points, three rebounds and three assists off the bench in Lakota East’s win over Hamilton Dec. 14.
Ohio small-school girls basketball player of the week: Leigha Acoff, Purcell Marian – Acoff had a 14-point, 10-rebound double-double to go with three assists in Purcell Marian’s 53-37 win over Cincinnati Country Day Dec. 17.
Northern Kentucky boys basketball player of the week: Garyn Jackson, Campbell County – He was named the MVP of the Alexandria crosstown shootout following the Camels’ 85-65 win over Bishop Brossart in their rivalry game in the 37th District.
Northern Kentucky girls basketball player of the week: Keauna Callum, Campbell County – She was named the MVP of the Alexandria crosstown shootout after leading the Camels with 15 points in their 39-37 win over Bishop Brossart Dec. 17 in a key 37th District rivalry game.
Ohio boys bowler of the week: Parker Nowlin, Elder – He had the second-highest series at the Greater Catholic League quad meet on December 13 with a 484. He also won the Wright State Challenge with a 443 series, where Elder finished third as a team.
Ohio girls bowler to the week: Anne Beekley, Saint Ursula Academy – The junior shot her career-high 200 in the Bulldogs' first season loss. A first-year varsity bowler, Beekley finished with a 324 series against Lakota West.
Northern Kentucky boys bowler of the week: Tyler Ketron, Cooper – He tied the high game of the season in the region with a 279 last week.
Northern Kentucky girls bowler of the week: Kree Brewer, Pendleton County – She led the region with games of 216 and 194 for a high series of the week (410) in Pendleton County’s most recent match.
Gymnast of the week: Maddie Belcuore, Anderson – She took first place in the beam and the floor after not competing last season due to injury, helping Anderson to a first-place team finish at the Candy Cand Quad Meet Dec. 18.
Ice hockey player of the week: Nick Woycke, Moeller – The senior forward scored a goal in each of the weekend games – a 4-1 win Dec. 16 over Olentangy Orange, a 3-0 win Dec. 17 against Miami and a 3-2 loss to Berlin Dec. 18.
Ohio boys swimmer/diver of the week: Evan Miller, La Salle – The senior won the 100 butterfly and 200 freestyle at the Butler Holiday Invitational Dec. 17.
Ohio girls swimmer/diver of the week: Amelia Hlebak, Mercy McAuley – She came in first against Seton Dec. 18 in both the 50 free (26.77) and 100 free (57.78) individual events and first in two relays, the 200 and 400 freestyle relays.
Northern Kentucky swimmer/diver of the week: Roman Furuta, Ryle – He helped set new school records in the 200 medley relay and 200 freestyle relay at the St. Henry Winter Classic Dec. 17.
Ohio boys wrestler of the week: Wyatt Hinton, Norwood – The junior won the Southwest Ohio Coaches Classic in his weight class over the weekend. He was unseeded and defeated two returning state placers on his way to the finals. Wyatt was also voted the most outstanding wrestler of the tournament. He improved his overall season record to 16-0.
Ohio girls wrestler of the week: Chloe Dearwester, Harrison – She won the title belt in the 110-pound weight class at the F.I.G.H.T. Invitational at Findlay High School.
NKY/IND wrestler of the week: Zach Russ, Highlands – He finished third at 175 in a tournament at Lexington Tates Creek Dec. 17.
Boys archer of the week: Landon Gilligan, Scott - He shot 286 at the Dixie Heights Winter Solstice Shootout to finish in third place while leading his team to a fourth-place finish.
Girls archer of the week: Emily Phillips, Calvary Christian – She shot a 287 to finish second out of 221 girls in the Dixie Heights tournament.
