DAYTON, Ky. — One person is dead and another has been hospitalized after a fire broke out on a boat in the Manhattan Harbor in Dayton, Ky. Friday afternoon.
As a result, the harbor has been closed indefinitely.
Officials have not yet released the identity of the person killed. The person who is now hospitalized was pulled from the Ohio River with the help of two local residents.
The boat was located in the harbor, close to other boats as crews sprayed the blaze with hoses from a nearby fire department boat. Officials said hundreds of gallons of fuel have leaked into the Ohio River and will need to be remediated.
The fire is now out, but officials have not released any information on the extent of the damages or details surrounding the surviving person's condition.
