Investigators are seeking to identify a person of interest after a landscaper was shot and killed while working in Corryville.The shooting happened shortly before 3 p.m. on May 23 in a driveway alley in the 2900 block of Bellevue Avenue.According to Lt. John Cunningham, officers on the scene found a victim with a gunshot wound. He was taken to UC Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.The man has been identified as 43-year-old Nicholas Kernan. According to a company representative with Uptown Properties, a property management company in Cincinnati, Kernan was an employee doing landscaping work when he was attacked.The company representative said Kernan was doing some mulching when a man walked up unprovoked and demanded money.When Kernan said he didn't have any money with him, he was shot in the head, the company rep said. The Cincinnati Police Department's Homicide Unit released new video Wednesday of what they say is a person of interest in the murder investigation.Police are looking for the public's help identifying the person of interest in the video.Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 513-352-3040.Kernan's employer has been offering a $10,000 reward to find the suspect.Kernan was set to turn 44 on Memorial Day."Instead of celebrating his birthday this year at a new dirt track, like they do every year, we're planning a celebration of life instead," Katie Duncan, Kernan's stepdaughter, said. "He was at work putting mulch down, making our community a more beautiful place, just doing his job when he was shot in broad daylight."
