Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow is known to make a fashion statement, and Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen - Burrow's friend and upcoming counterpart in Sunday's divisional-round playoff game in Buffalo - told reporters Wednesday that he can't compete with Burrow in the wardrobe department.
But Burrow threw everyone for a curve at a mid-week press conference by showing up in a No. 8 Bengals jersey.
Backup quarterback Brandon Allen wears No. 8. Did Burrow decide to switch numbers, sending owners of No. 9 jerseys into a panic?
"Oops. Guess I grabbed the wrong one," Burrow explained. "It's been that kind of day."
The Enquirer's Kelsey Conway wrote Wednesday about how Burrow said he always enjoys going on the road, where it feels like it's "you against the world and that's where we like to be."
