The Northern Kentucky basketball team defeated Youngstown State 75-63 at Indiana Farmers Coliseum in the semifinals of the Horizon League tournament on Monday.
The Norse led 47-25 with 17:35 remaining in the second half before a Youngstown State run was able to cut the lead down to double digits. The Penguins got as close as four points in the second half.
Youngstown State leading scorer Dwayne Cohill picked up back-to-back fouls in a matter of seconds and fouled out with NKU leading 55-49 with 5:40 remaining.

Marques Warrick scored 22, Sam Vinson added 17 and Chris Brandon scored eight points and grabbed 17 rebounds for the Norse.
Cohill finished with 16 points. Adrian Nelson, a transfer from NKU, finished with 17 points and 13 rebounds for Youngstown State.
Horizon League championship game on Tuesday
NKU will play the winner of No. 2 Milwaukee and No. 3 Cleveland State for the championship tomorrow at 7 p.m.
The Norse will be going for their fourth Horizon League championship after winning titles in 2017, 2019 and 2020.
