FC Cincinnati has unveiled its ninth kit in the club's MLS history, which will serve as the team's home uniform for the 2023 season."FC Cincinnati's 2023 primary kit pays tribute to the Ohio River," the club said in a press release announcing the uniform. "Cincinnati was founded on the banks of the 'Mighty Ohio', a symbol of power, evolution and the everchanging landscape of the dynamic Queen City."It represents the literal and philosophical movement of Cincinnati," the club continues.Dubbed the River Kit, the shirt is a solid blue base with a black streak across the front, going from the top of the left chest down to the right hip, to give the feel of rippling water.Orange rings accent the sleeves - which are a dark, almost black, shade of blue - and piping on the collar.Mercy Health, which has been the club's kit sponsor since the club began play in MLS, continues to be the kit sponsor this season. This year will see the club have two sleeve sponsors: Kroger is on the right sleeve, while the Apple TV logo is under the MLS logo on the left sleeve - something every club across MLS will have this season. A new Cincinnati wordmark logo, adorned along the collar of the back, debuts with this kit, as does a jersey tag logo of a blue bridge inside of an orange circle, honoring the Roebling Bridge. The tag is found on the bottom left of the kit. After debuting a blue and orange stripe design in 2019, future home kits have focused more on the blue in the year's previous. 2020 saw a two-toned blue design on the front, with a lighter color on the right side and a darker blue on the left, while the kit used the past two years, introduced in 2021, kept the darker blue from the 2020 shirt throughout the jersey with thin, alternating orange and blue stripes laid overtop of it.FCC's River Kit is now available to purchase. It'll be worn in the club's season opener on Feb. 25 against the Houston Dynamo.
