The National Weather Service has confirmed a tornado touched down in Butler County during Monday's severe storms.NWS said crews have been surveying the area northwest of Middletown and confirmed a tornado touched down in the area Monday. Officials said the EF1 tornado had winds up to 110 mph and was on the ground for approximately 4.2 miles. NWS Wilmington had crews survey areas in Butler County into southern Montgomery County area as well as the Clark County area and Pickaway County area.NWS also confirmed a tornado touched down in Pickaway County and Clark County. The severe storms tore through the area Monday afternoon and evening, leaving behind some serious damage for some communities.In Madison Township, 18-year-old Canaan Kuykendoll said he was playing video games in his room when the roof was blown off of his home.The boy said he grabbed onto a wall, worried he'd be next to blow away."I looked outside my window here to my right and saw like three trees get picked up in the air and tossed like they were weightless," Kuykendoll said.His home had walls blown out, windows shattered and screens torn. He said most of the trees surrounding the house toppled over and piled up on top of each other.Emergency crews were out assessing the damage Monday night.Officials said a handful of houses in Madison Township were damaged.No injuries have been reported so far but those impacted said they will have a long cleanup process ahead.
