Body recovered from landfill in Brown County; investigation ongoing


Police are investigating after a body was recovered at a Rumpke landfill in Brown County.Mark Denner with Columbus police said the body was recovered Wednesday morning. The recovery stems from an investigation originating in Columbus, Denner said.Denner didn't give details on what led them to the landfill or the details surrounding the investigation but said more information will be released in the coming days."The investigation is ongoing and we're hopefully going to be able to bring justice and some outcome of this investigation here shortly," Denner said.Denner said they will be talking with investigators and detectives and will release more details.Columbus police worked with Rumpke and Brown County Sheriff's Office, fire department and coroner's office in the recovery efforts. "Everybody provided resources, but a lot of it was really just support, being able to communicate and we were able to have progress and hopefully be able to report success," Denner said. Denner said there will be a press conference on Thursday where more details will be provided.
