Four new inductees welcomed into Cincinnati Black Music Walk of Fame


Music, love and pride filled the Hard Rock Cincinnati as County Commission president and founder of The Cincinnati Black Music Walk of Fame Alicia Reece and friends kicked off Black Music Month with a bang."We're going to tell the story, the real story of Black artists, musicians and songwriters that are from southwest Ohio," Reece said.That story includes four new inductees, including the band Deele, featuring LA Reid and Babyface, Louise Shropshire, Philippe Wynne and the Godfather of soul, James Brown were introduced into the 2023 Black Music Walk of Fame.Along with the four inductees, dozens of the top music influencers were honored Wednesday.Cincinnati native and Grammy awarding-winning producer Sal Dali worked on Beyoncé's Renaissance album. He says he was humbled by the honor."I feel like I have so much more work to do to even be mentioned in the same sentence with these people," Dali said.Reece, a former tourism director for Ohio, wanted to create a tourist attraction that would bring in music lovers from all over the world."We're going to have a place for grandma and the grandkids to come. We're going to have edutainment — you'll be entertained and educated at the same time," Reece said.The historic grand opening of the one-of-a-kind, interactive Cincinnati Black Music Walk of Fame will take place July 22.

Along with the four inductees, dozens of the top music influencers were honored Wednesday.

"I feel like I have so much more work to do to even be mentioned in the same sentence with these people," Dali said.
