2 dead after crash on Butler County highway


Two people are dead following a two-vehicle crash Saturday on State Route 63 in Butler County, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The crash happened around 12:31 p.m. at the intersection of Yankee Road, the patrol said in a news release.

A woman driving a 2015 Cadillac Escalade eastbound on the highway struck a 2019 Chevrolet Equinox that was attempting to turn west onto State Route 63 from Yankee Road, the release states.

The Chevrolet's driver, 38-year-old Jacob Baker, of Monroe, was pronounced dead at the scene, the patrol said. A passenger, 65-year-old Charles Taylor Jr., of Middletown, was taken to the Atrium Medical Center where he later died.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol's Hamilton post is investigating the crash with the help of the Monroe Police Department.
