With his Houston Astros visiting the Minnesota Twins, former Cincinnati Reds manager Dusty Baker told reporters he got to go backstage at the Red Hot Chili Peppers' concert Saturday night in Minneapolis.
According to MLB.com's Brian McTaggart, Baker said he knew RHCP bassist Flea before the show, having met him years ago through former Reds pitcher Bronson Arroyo.
And Flea, whose full name is Michael Balzary, did give Baker a Twitter shoutout.
Flea and some of the Chili Peppers took batting practice at Great American Ball Park before a game in 2013, Arroyo's final season with the Reds. Flea wore a No. 3 Cincinnati jersey that was made for him.
Baker, who won his first World Series title as a manager last November with Houston, managed the Reds from 2008 to 2013.
