Xavier University has confirmed one of the people shot and killed at a bank in downtown Louisville Monday morning was a graduate of the university.The university confirmed Tuesday that Josh Barrick, 40, graduated from Xavier in 2005.“Everyone at Xavier University is heart-broken for Joshua and his family. We extend our deepest of sympathies to his family,” Xavier President Colleen Hanycz, PhD. told WLWT in a statement. According to the school, Barrick was the Senior Vice President for Commercial Real Estate Banking at Old National Bank, where the shooting took place. The school says he leaves behind his wife, Jessica, and two children.The school says they were planning to host a remembrance service for lives lost during the past semester, and Barrick will be added to the list.The remembrance will be held at noon Tuesday at the Bellarmine Chapel.The four other deceased victims have been identified as Thomas Elliot, 63; James Tutt, 64; Juliana Farmer, 45 and Deanna Eckert, 57. Eight people were also hurt in the shooting. As of Tuesday, Louisville Hospital said four patients remain at the hospital, one in critical condition, one in the ICU in stable condition and two others with non-life-threatening injuries. The victim in critical condition is LMPD officer Nickolas Wilt, 26, who was shot in the head. Police said Monday he underwent brain surgery and is in critical but stable condition.Police said Wilt had just graduated from the police academy on March 31. "This was an evil act of targeted violence," Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg said.
