Kings Island announced a new chaperone policy Thursday, days after a juvenile was arrested near the park.
Under the new policy, which goes into effect Saturday, April 22, all guests 15 years old or younger must be accompanied by a chaperone 21 or older. The chaperone must present a valid government-issued photo ID at ticket entry, remain inside the park during their visit and be available by phone.
According to a press release, any unaccompanied guests under 15 will be subject to ejection, and the park will allow up to 10 guests per chaperone. The requirement applies to all Kings Island ticket and season pass holders.

"We believe these changes will help ensure that Kings Island continues to have a positive atmosphere where generations of families and friends can gather for a day of safe fun and good food," the press release states.
The park said the new policy comes after increasing incidents of "unruly and inappropriate behavior" over the past two years at Kings Island and similar entertainment venues. The announcement also follows an arrest of a 17-year-old Saturday near Kings Island on a weapons charge. The teen was carrying a 9mm pistol and 12 bullets, according to a police report.
Operations were temporarily suspended in the Action Zone Saturday night after Mason police received a report of a "suspicious person" outside of the park.
