Earth Day is officially Saturday, April 22, and we've got a list of local events taking place throughout the weekend to help you learn how to be a good steward of our beautiful blue planet.
Some events are geared toward learning how to be Earth-friendly, some are more boots-on-the-ground cleanups. And some are about kicking back and enjoying the outdoors with music and entertainment for the whole family. There's even a plant swap at an area brewery. Feel free to pick the vibe that's right for you.
Wednesday, April 19

Solar Town Hall, 4-6 p.m., NECA/IBEW Net Zero Training Center, 5455 Glenway Ave., Westwood. Learn about the latest in solar technologies and hear from experts in the solar industry. Includes happy hour networking sessions. Free. greenumbrella.org.
Wild & Scenic Film Festival, 7:30 p.m., Woodward Theater, 1404 Main St., Over-the-Rhine. The Ohio River Foundation brings one of the largest environmental film festivals in North America to Cincinnati right in time for Earth Day. Art & Earth Day, 9 a.m.-8 p.m., Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park & Museum, 1763 Hamilton-Cleves Road, Hamilton. Includes guided nature walks, art workshops, family activities, hikes, yoga and more. Earth Day Celebration, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Gardens, 3400 Vine St., Avondale. Learning stations set up around zoo, animal chats and enrichment, vendors and more. Free with admission.
Earth Day Weekend Artists & Makers Market, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday-Sunday, Cincinnati Nature Center, Rowe Woods, 4949 Tealtown Road, Milford. Enjoy artists who creatively recycle, reuse and upcycle to make their artwork, and makers with offerings from gardens and farms. $10, $8 ages 65-up and active military, $6 ages 4-12, free ages 3-under. Spring Fest, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Burnet Woods, 3251 Brookline Ave., Cuf. Environmental groups, non-profits, educational groups, artists and advocates will be on hand, plus yoga with World Peace Yoga, tree and wildflower walks with Cincinnati Wildflower Preservation Society, live music from Comet Bluegrass Allstars and more.
