IT WAS A MULTIPLE POLICE AGENCY BRINGING MULTIPLE POLICE AGENCIES, NEWPORT ON THE LEVY AND ALL COUNTY DISPATCH OFFICERS FROM MULTIPLE APPLE, NORTHERN KENTUCKY, AGENCIES FOCUSING ON SCENE THAT SIDE OF THE RIVER CANINES, ALONG WITH OFFICERS WITH LONG GUNS DRAWN, CALLED IN FROM CAMPBELL CANTON AND BOONE COUNTIES. CINCINNATI POLICE AS, WELL, SHUTTING DOWN ALL THE BRIDGES IN AND OUT OF THE CITY OF CINCINNATI. NOW, THE POLICE CALL CAME IN AROUND 2:00 THIS MORNING. NEWPORT POLICE TOLD TELL ME BYSTANDERS NEAR THIRD STREET IN MOM IS HURT WITH BELIEVED TO BE GUNSHOTS COMING FROM NEWPORT ON THE LEVY AL THE TWO BY STANDARDS IN RAN INTO PROPERTY THE LEVY ALERTING A SECURE GUARD WHO THEN CONTACTED DISPATCH. NOW POLICE HERE IN NEWPORT AGAIN GIVING ALL CLEAR AROUND 4:00 THIS MORNING. Newport police have given the all-clear Thursday morning after a very tense response at Newport on the Levy and the surrounding area.An all-county broadcast dispatched officers from multiple Northern Kentucky agencies to Third and Monmouth, focusing on a two-block area near the Levy.K9 units, along with officers with long guns, were called in from Campbell, Kenton and Boone counties, with Cincinnati police shutting the bridge into and out of the city of Cincinnati as well.The call to police came in around 2 a.m. Thursday. Newport police say bystanders near Third and Monmouth streets heard what they believed to be gunshots coming from the Newport on the Levy entertainment center. The two bystanders ran onto the property and alerted a security guard, who then called dispatch.Police said officers responded to the area and, as a precaution, requested assistance from neighboring agencies to secure the scene and attempt to locate potential suspects.After interviewing the bystanders that said they heard shots were fired, police determined that no shots were fired inside the levee and no one was injured.No suspects have been identified, and no arrests have been made, police said. Detectives are investigating the incident to gather any additional facts.Anyone with information is asked to call police at 859-292-3622.
