A 5-year-old girl was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a pickup truck in Forest Park Thursday afternoon, according to the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.According to the Hamilton County Traffic Unit, a mother and 5-year-old child were crossing in the 1200 block of West Kemper Road in front of Winton Woods High School when the child was struck by a pick-up truck. The child was taken to Children's Hospital with serious injuries. Police say the pair were not using the crosswalk at the time of the crash. According to officers on scene, the driver of the pick-up stayed on scene, but was not issued a citation. Speed, impairment, and distractions don’t appear to be a factor at this time, the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office said. West Kemper Road was shut down while officers assessed the scene. The road has since reopened.
