IT WAS A BIG NIGHT FOR QBS WITH THREE OF THE FIRST FOUR PICKS BEING PASSERS, BUT IT WAS THE BENGALS WITH ONE OF THE BIGGER SURPRISES OF THE NIGHT, SELECTING MYLES MURPHY WITH THEIR FIRST PICK AT NUMBER 28. HE’S A DEFENSIVE END OUT OF CLEMSON AND SHOULD ADD ANOTHER WEAPON IN THE BENGALS. PASS RUSHING ARSENAL GOT TO CHASE DOWN DESHAUN WATSON, LAMAR JACKSON. THEY’LL BE ABLE TO BEAT HIS SIZE. OLIVIA RAY HAS MORE FROM PACKER STADIUM THIS MORNING. BENGALS HAVE SNAPPED A TWO DECADE LONG DROUGHT AND TAKE A DEFENSIVE LINEMAN INTO THE FIRST ROUND. With their second pick of the 2023 NFL Draft, the Cincinnati Bengals have selected Michigan cornerback DJ Turner.Turner's selection marks the second-straight draft the Bengals have selected two defensive players in their first two picks. This year, Turner joins Clemson defensive end Myles Murphy as the first two members of the Bengals 2023 draft class.Watch the video below to see Turner receiving the call from the Bengals head coach Zac Taylor informing him that he would be their next pick.Taylor posed the question, "Do you want to come join us and be a Bengal?" To which Turner replied with the simple: "Yes, sir."Turner played all four years at Michigan but was a regular starter over the last two seasons and totaled 69 tackles (53 solo) and three interceptions, two of which came in 2021.This past season, Turner totaled 36 tackles as part of the Wolverines' defensive back corps, 25 of which were solo, the sixth-most solo tackles on the team. He also had a team-best 10 pass deflections and a season-long fumble recovery of 45 yards, which was taken for a touchdown.
