A Boone County family is pushing to make youth and high school sports safer.Matthew Mangine, 16, was a high school junior when he collapsed from cardiac arrest nearly three years ago.His parents launched the "One Shot Foundation" to raise awareness of the automated external defibrillators, or AEDs, that could have saved their son's life.Mangine's father, Matthew Sr., wants CPR and AED certification for coaches renewed each year."What our goal is is that at the start of every season, make sure every coach retrains, does some chest compression training, hands-on chest compressions. Again, refresher courses so you're ready for it," Mangine said.The Mangines took part in a "Safer Sidelines" panel in Louisville.
