The College of Charleston men's basketball team will play the San Diego State Aztecs Thursday at 3:10 p.m. in the first round of the 2023 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament.
The team's head coach, Pat Kelsey, has Cincinnati ties.
Kelsey is a former Elder High School standout who also coached and played for the Xavier Musketeers. Last month, he agreed to a five-year contract extension with the College of Charleston, where he will be paid $1.1 million annually.

Where is Pat Kelsey from?
Kelsey grew up in Cincinnati. He and his basketball-loving family lived in Finneytown, and he attended Roger Bacon High School. For his senior year, Kelsey transferred to Elder High School, where he helped the Panthers basketball team win a Division I state title.
