Miami University in the Mid-American men’s basketball tournament

OXFORD, Ohio -  Dae Dae Grant had 19 points as Miami University beat Eastern Michigan 76-63 on Friday night.

The RedHawks (14-17, 8-12 MAC) earned the No. 7 seed in the Mid-American Conference tournament that begins on Thurday. They will meet No. 2 seed Kent State in the quarterfinals at approximately 3:30 p.m.

Kent State (21-9, 16-4 MAC) finished the season with a 70-65 victory over Buffalo Friday night.

The Miami-Kent State winner will face the winner of top-seeded Toledo and No. 8 Central Michigan on Friday.

Dalonte Brown had 15 points for the RedHawks while Kamari Williams added 12 points and three blocks. Precious Ayah had 12 points.

Mo Njie had 16 points and 10 rebounds for the Eagles (10-21, 5-15).

The RedHawks leveled the season series against the Eagles. Eastern Michigan defeated Miami 85-75 on Jan. 29.
