In a vote that ended March 4, Cincinnati.com readers selected the Cincinnati Enquirer Athletes of the Week, presented by Mercy Health, from high school sports action through Feb. 27.
Winners through the end of 2021 should have received a certificate through the school's athletic department. The 2022 certificates are currently being produced and should be mailed after the winter season concludes.

The Athlete of the Week voting occurs each week during all high school sports seasons and recognizes athletes across all sports. Send your nominations by Monday morning for this week's high school sports action.

The week's winners are:
Ohio boys basketball team: CHCA – The No. 2 CHCA Eagles ran through the sectional tournament with a pair of 20-point wins, topping Finneytown 67-47 and Madeira 55-35.
Ohio girls basketball team: East Clinton – East Clinton edged upset-minded Preble Shawnee 48-46 on Feb. 26 to clinch a district championship.
Northern Kentucky boys basketball team: Covington Catholic – The Colonels have won seven-straight contests, including the postseason opener over Beechwood 84-54 and the 35th District championship over Holy Cross 96-57.
Northern Kentucky girls basketball team: Bishop Brossart – The Lady ‘Stangs needed just one win to take the 37th District, earning the crown with a 40-25 win over Campbell County.
Boys winter team of the week: Lebanon wrestling – Lebanon scored 287 points with eight champions, taking home the sectional title at its sectional meet.
Girls winter team of the week: Batavia bowling – In the Division II district meet, Batavia finished in fourth place with a 3,533, advancing to the state tournament. This is the team’s first appearance at the state tournament and they are the only DII Cincinnati school to qualify.
Ohio boys basketball big school player: A.J. McBride, Moeller – The sophomore had 13 points and four rebounds in Moeller’s 45-40 win over Hamilton in the district semifinals Feb. 23.
Ohio boys basketball small school player: Weston Roberts, CHCA – He had 25 points on 9-of-11 shooting in CHCA’s 55-35 win over Madeira in the district semifinals Feb. 25.
Ohio girls basketball big school player: Daysia Thompson, Winton Woods – The senior had 14 points, five rebounds and three assists in Winton Woods’ 61-50 win over Centerville in the district finals Feb. 26.
Ohio girls basketball small school player: Trinity Small, Purcell Marian – The freshman had 12 points in Purcell Marian’s 73-37 win over Greenon in the district finals Feb. 26.
Northern Kentucky/Indiana boys basketball player: Chandler Starks, Covington Catholic – He was named all-tournament to help the Colonels win the 35th District championship.
Northern Kentucky/Indiana girls basketball player: Madison Parker, Bishop Brossart – She scored 18 points to lead the Mustangs to the 37th District championship final win over Campbell County.
Boys bowler: Jalen Morrow, St. Xavier – The senior won a sectional championship at Colerain Bowl Feb. 23 with a 699 series.
Girls bowler: Abby Jayne Huhn, Batavia - The junior bowled a 575 series to earn all-tournament team honors. She led the Lady Bulldogs to qualify for the school’s first bowling team state appearance.
Boys big school swimmer/diver: Thackston McMullan, St. Xavier – The sophomore won a Division I championship in the 500 free at the state meet Feb. 26.
Boys small school swimmer/diver: Logan Ottke, CHCA – The junior won a Division II state championship in the 100 breaststroke Feb. 25.
Girls big school swimmer/diver: Elizabeth "Bela" Noble, Walnut Hills - Bela is the new Division I state diving champion. She was also the 2022 Eastern Cincinnati Conference champion, ECC Diver of the Year and placed second at the Southwest Classic, second at Southwest sectionals and at districts. She also broke both of Walnut Hills' diving records, for the 6-dive and 11-dive meets.
Girls small school swimmer/diver: Isabella Pivor, Indian Hill – The senior tied for fifth place in the 50 free at state Feb. 25 helping Indian Hill finish seventh in the Division II team standings.
Ohio boys Division I wrestling: Braden Heddington, Lebanon – The senior won the -pound weight class at the Division I Lebanon sectional tournament Feb. 26, helping Lebanon to a first-place team finish.
Ohio boys Division II wrestling: Logan Dean, Bethel-Tate – The sophomore won the 106-pound weight class at the Division II Western Brown sectional tournament Feb. 26 by a 35-second pin, helping Bethel to a third-place team finish.
Ohio boys Division III wrestling: Jacob Groeber, Clermont Northeastern – The senior won the 165-pound weight class at the Division III Reading sectional tournament Feb. 26.
Northern Kentucky/Indiana boys wrestling: Rilen Pinkston, Highlands – The sophomore, already the first state qualifier in the two-year history of the revived varsity program, became the first state medalist by finishing seventh at 144 pounds. He rallied late in his second-round consolation match to win 6-2 and clinch a medal. He finished 38-10 overall.
Girls wrestling: Gabriella Ocasio, Simon Kenton – The sophomore won her first Kentucky coaches association girls state wrestling tournament Feb. 21, claiming the 138-pound title with four pins.
Boys archer: Logan Sizemore, Simon Kenton – The junior finished fourth in the boys standings at the Beechwood tournament Feb. 26 with a 286.
Girls archer: Madison Opitz, Highlands – The senior won the Beechwood tournament Feb. 26 with a 293.
