The developers behind the $1 billion, 25-acre Ovation project in Newport have released new images for the next phase of construction that show space for several new bars and restaurants, a spa with a rooftop pool, even a grocery store.
The drawings were unveiled Tuesday at the new Ovation Experience Center built into the second floor of the garage under the PromoWest Pavilion at Ovation – the indoor/outdoor concert venue that opened in August 2021.
The center provides a space for prospective buyers to view floor plans and select finishes for the apartment and condo units to be built adjacent to the earthen mound Newport levee, near the confluence of the Ohio and Licking rivers.
The 88 new condos going up this spring in three buildings just west of the concert hall at 101 W. Fourth St. will have panoramic views of the rivers and downtown Cincinnati,
Each of the Boardwalk Residences, as the condos will be known, will be 1,800-square-foot units with at least two bedrooms listed for just under $1 mullion, according to Covington-based Corporex, which has led Ovation's development.
The condo units, which will be the first to be built on Newport's riverfront in more than a decade, will sit on top of 36,000 square feet of street-level retail space overlooking the rivers.
The next phase of development will include an additional 500,000 square feet of retail and office space and a new 1,600-car parking garage that will act as the platform for the new commercial and residential spaces.
Ovation will compete directly with The Banks development on the Cincinnati side of the Ohio River with its own concert venue – the Andrew J. Brady Icon Music Center – and a variety of bars, restaurants and high-end apartments.
