The Cincinnati Bengals announced Wednesday they have extended head coach Zac Taylor's contract through the 2026 season. “Zac has come into the league and worked to develop the foundations for a winning program that can be successful over time,” said Bengals president Mike Brown. “The fruits of Zac’s efforts were seen this year, and Zac is well-regarded by our players and coaches. I know the effort and passion Zac brings to the building and to our team, and I am pleased by his approach. And I think the city of Cincinnati sees him the way the players and I do. He's brought excitement to the town and deserves credit and recognition for that.”Taylor in 2021 led Cincinnati to a 10-7 regular-season record, an AFC North title, an AFC Championship and a berth in Super Bowl LVI. He now enters his fourth season at the helm in Cincinnati, after being named the 10th head coach in team history on Feb. 4, 2019.The announcement comes just days after the Bengals historic run to the Super Bowl, suffering a heartbreaking loss to the Los Angeles Rams. Taylor said he thinks the team played like they had all season and did everything they could till the end."It stings right now. But you got to find a way to cherish what this group had together. It's a special group, it's rare you get to coach a team like this. This team means a lot and I'm proud of the way that they fought. They did a lot for our team, for our organization, for our city, and they need to be really proud of that."
