Al Golden leaving Cincinnati Bengals for Notre Dame football

The Cincinnati Bengals will be looking for at least one new assistant coach after linebackers coach Al Golden has been hired by Notre Dame, according to a report by The Athletic.

Golden, who spent the past two seasons on Zac Taylor's staff, is returning to the college ranks where he previously coached the Miami Hurricanes and Temple Owls.

The 52-year-old New Jersey native played college football at Penn State and spent the 1992 season with the New England Patriots before beginning his coaching career. 

Bengals' offensive coordinator Brian Callahan and defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo both interviewed for head coaching vacancies prior to the team's Super Bowl 56 loss to the Los Angeles Rams.

Cincinnati Bengals linebackers coach Al Golden will reportedly become the defensive coordinator at Notre Dame.
