The Bengals had a four-point lead with less than two minutes remaining in Super Bowl 56, in need of a stop with the Rams in the Red Zone. With linebacker Logan Wilson in coverage, officials called a defensive-holding penalty on 3rd-and-goal, giving Los Angeles a fresh set of downs.
"There?" NBC play-by-play man Al Michaels asked while watching the replay during the broadcast. "You tell me."
"That's what they called. Wow. In a game where there have not been that many ticky-tack fouls, that was close." NBC color analyst Cris Collinsworth said.
