Xavier starts slow, can’t complete comeback at Seton Hall

NEWARK, N.J. – If it feels like it's becoming a theme, that's because it is.

Xavier's late-season slide continued on Wednesday at the Prudential Center in a game that felt very familiar for the Musketeers.

Dig a hole thanks to a slow start, then play with passion and purpose to get back in the game, make it close and come up short.

That's an accurate synopsis of what happened to No. 25 Xavier in a 73-71 loss at Seton Hall.

Xavier trailed 37-27 at halftime and started the second half with its hair on fire to climb back into the game.

Jack Nunge led Xavier with 22 points. Paul Scruggs added 21.
