Wednesday is a day to save some dough on one of the most popular foods.
Feb. 9 is National Pizza Day and businesses across the nation are celebrating with discounted pizza and other specials.
With the Super Bowl on Sunday, there will be more pizza deals this weekend and you’ll also be able to find heart-shaped pizza ahead of Valentine’s Day.
Until 2020, National Bagel Day also was held on Feb. 9, but the hole-y day moved to mid-January last year to avoid sharing the spotlight with pizza.
According to Google Maps data shared with USA TODAY, for the second year, Domino’s Pizza remains the top searched pizza spot in the U.S.

Yelp searching for Chief Pizza Officer
Yelp is “hiring” its first “Chief Pizza Officer” who during the six-month job will “be responsible for spreading their love for pizza and sharing the latest pizza trends with the Yelp community.”
The role will pay $25,000. Applications are being accepted Wednesday through Feb. 28 and when applying you’ll need to submit a 30 to 60-second video explaining why you’re qualified for the role.

Pizza Day 2022 deals and freebies
The following are available at participating locations nationwide Wednesday, unless otherwise stated. Some deals may require a mobile app, and most are while supplies last. Offers can vary by franchise, so check with your closest location.
Domino's Pizza Day deal: $3 coupon for carryout orders
For a limited time, Domino's will give you $3 to order your pizza online and pick it up yourself instead of choosing delivery.
Make a carryout order through May 22 and get a $3 coupon code to redeem the following week on a carryout order of $5 or more before tax and gratuity.
Also, earn points to redeem for free pizza with the chain's Piece of the Pie rewards program that you can sign up for at Dominos.com.

Papa Johns' Pizza Day deals: How to win free pizza for a year and more
Papa Johns has a few promotions for National Pizza Day. The chain’s new NY Style pizza is available for $13 for a one-topping pizza through March 13.
Also, heart-shaped pizza is available for $11.99 at participating locations nationwide through Monday. The pizza comes uncut “because we don’t want to break your heart,” the chain said.
And through Feb. 16, Papa John’s has a contest on Twitter and Instagram with free pizza for a year up for grabs. To enter, share your “pizza-eating style on Twitter or Instagram with #whatsyourstyle #sweepstakes.” Learn more about the contest here.
Pizza Hut Pizza Day deals, spicy pizza
Pizza Hut's three new Spicy Lover's Pizzas – Spicy Double Pepperoni, Spicy Hawaiian Chicken, and Spicy Veggie – are available now for a limited time at participating Pizza Hut locations for delivery, curbside pickup and carryout.
The chain also has several deals posted on its website including a $10 Tastemaster, a heart-shaped pizza and other bundles.

Hungry Howie’s Pizza Day deals
Hungry Howie’s is highlighting its Mix & Match menu for Pizza Day. Choose any two items on the Mix & Match menu for $6.99 each. There’s also the $17.99 Howie Deal which includes two medium, one-topping pizzas and a two-liter Pepsi.
Whole Foods Pizza Day $10 deal
From Wednesday through Feb. 15, Whole Foods Market is offering a hot 18-inch Cheese Pizza for $10 and Prime members can get an additional 10% off.
DiGiorno free pizza Super Bowl contest
Free pizza is up for grabs with DiGiorno’s Super Bowl promotion. Sign up at Play.keeplifedelicious.com/digiornopiscore through Sunday and if at any point during the game, the score is 3-14 or 14-3, 1,500 winners will be selected at random to win a free pizza coupon.
The pizza brand will also give away free pizza for other “pi-centric moments” during the game including:
- Any player finishes the game with exactly 314 passing yards;
- There are more than 3.14 total turnovers (4 or more) in the game
- Any scoring drive takes exactly 3 minutes and 14 seconds.

Peter Piper Pizza Day deal
Peter Piper Pizza’s National Pizza Day “double up” offer includes two large one-topping pizzas for $24, available at participating locations. The offer is available through Sunday.
Also, through Feb. 21 for Valentine’s Day, get a large, one-topping heart-shaped pizza and large crunch dessert for $19.99.
Marco’s Pizza Day deal on Pepperoni Magnifico
For a limited time, Marco’s Pizza has a $9.99 special on its large Pepperoni Magnifico when you order online or through the chain’s app with the code PEPMAG, while supplies last. Pricing and participation can vary by location.
Mountain Mike's Pizza Day discount
Get 15% off Mountain Mike’s online and mobile app pizza orders Wednesday with promo code PIZZADAY22.
Papa Gino’s free pizza for rewards members
Papa Gino’s Rewards members, who are registered ahead of Pizza Day by Tuesday, will get an offer for a free slice of cheese or pepperoni pizza loaded to their accounts Wednesday to use on that day. Casey’s has two deals Wednesday. Only on Wednesday, get $3 off any large pizza with promo code 3OFF. For the month of February, there’s a buy-one-get-one pizza offer on large pizzas with promo code BOGO.
Donatos Pizza Day deal: Double points
Donatos Rewards members who order any pizza Wednesday, including the chain’s new plant-based pepperoni pizzas, get double points. Sign up and learn more at Donatos.com/rewards.
Through Monday, the chain also has heart-shaped pizzas and Valentine's Twists available at all 169 traditional Donatos locations.
Stop & Shop Pizza Day deal $2.99 flatbreads
All Stop & Shop stores have a deal on their flatbread pizzas Wednesday, which will be $2.99, more than 50% off the regular price, the chain says.
Pieology Pizza Day deal: $2 discount
Pieology Pizzeria has a discount for its Pie Life Rewards members. Loyalty members who download the app before Wednesday get $2 off any purchase at participating locations.
BJ’s Pizza Day deal: Half off pizza
Monday is usually the day for half-off pizza at BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse. But now for a limited time, use the promo code HALFOFF Tuesdays through Sundays to get half off any large deep dish or tavern-cut pizza for delivery and take out orders placed on the website and app.
Blaze Pizza Day deal: Double Flames
