Cincinnati Bengals rookie wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase was named the 2021 Pepsi Zero Sugar NFL Rookie of the Year on Friday.
Chase is just the third receiver to win the award. Last month, Chase broke Chad Johnson's single-season franchise record of 1,440 receiving yards - set in 2007 - and finished with 1,455 in his first NFL season.
From the Bengals via Twitter:
One week earlier, Chase's 266 yards against the Kansas City Chiefs were the most in a game by a rookie in NFL history.
And Chase became just the third Bengals player - joining Carl Pickens (17 in 1995) and Tyler Eifert (13 in 2015) - with 13 receiving touchdowns in a season.
The Enquirer's Charlie Goldsmith wrote Friday about why Chase can't be stopped.
Ja'Marr Chase has 20 catches for 279 yards with one touchdown in three games during the Bengals' playoff run.
