Winter storm: More snow moves in on top of icy roads across Cincinnati
IT IN JUST A BIT, OF COURSE IN ABOUT 20 MINUTES HERE TOO AND RANDY. YOU’VE BEEN KEEPING IT ON TOP. OBVIOUSLY THE ENTIRE TEAM HAS YESTERDAY WITH SOME OF THAT SLEET THAT WE SAW CONTINUOUSLY IN THE FREEZING RAIN. IT’S BEEN SO HARD TO GET TSHI STUFF OFF OF THE ROADWAYS, WHICH HAS BEEN WHY IT’S TAKING SO LONG. THIS ISN’T EASY RIGHT? IT’S NOT JUST SNOW WHERE YOU CAN PASS IT PASS BY WITH THISO N PLOW AND IT’S GONE. THERE’S THAT WE HAD THE RAIN AND YOU HAVE THE FREEZING RAIN SO THAT LAYER OF ICE UNDERNEATH THE SLEET THAT WAS SUPER HEAVY YESTERDAY. AND THEN NOW WE’RE ADDING FRESH POWDERY SNOW ON TOP OF ALL OF IT. SO THANK YOU A CAKE. I WAS IT IS A LAYER CAKE FOR SURE AND WE’VE GOT THE ICINGN O TOP IS OUR SNOW HERE AS WE GO THROUGH TODAY. LET’S TAKE A LOOK AT THE WLWT LIVE RADAR BECAUSE WE DO HAVE SNOW SHOWERS FALLING ALL ACROSS GREATER CINCINNATI AT TIMES YOU GET THE BIG FLAT FAT FLAKES AND SOMETIMES THE SNOW IS COMING IN SIDEWAYS BECAUSE WE VEHA 2MI0 LE AN HOUR WINDS RIGHT NOW AS WE TAKE A LOOK AT THE75 2 LOOP OVER THE LAST HOUR. IT’S BEEN FAIRLY STEADY SNOW SHOWERS. NOW. YOU’RE SEEING A LITTLE BIT OF DRY AIR TRY TO WORK ITS WAY IN NEAR THE POURED OVER TO THE WEST SI DE NEAR DELHI ALONG THE NORTHWOOD LATERAL, BUT STILL PLENTY OF SNOW TO COME AS WE ZOOM ON INTO DOWNTOWN. WE CHECK THE CITY CAM ABOUT A HALF HOUR OR SO AGO AND THE SNOW WAS COMING INSIDE WAYS NOW, WE ACTUALLY HAVE A PRETTY CLEAR VIEW OF PAUL BROWN STADIUM THERE BUT HAD A LITTLE FURTHER TO THE NORTH DAN YOU CAN SEE THE SNOW PICKS UP RIGHT AROUND FOREST PARK AREAS UP AND THROUGH SHARONVILLE WESTCHESTER LIBERTY TOWN. UP AND MUCH OF BUTLER COUNTY. IT LOOKS LIKE OXFORD’S RIGHT IN BETWEEN A COUPLE BURSTS OF SNOW RIGHT NOW MIDDLETOWN STING STUDY SNOW ALL OF WARREN COUNTY AND HEADING AIT LETL BIT FURTHER TO THE ES CLINTON AND HIGHLAND COUNTY SAME THING A LITTLE BIT OF A HEAVI BURERST OF SNOW RIGHT NOW OVER TOP OF HILLSBORO AND THEN WE’LL SLIDE TOHE T SOUTH HERE INTO KENTUCKY. WE HAVE SOME STEADY HEAVIER SNOW OVER TOP OF ROBERTSON COUNTY AT THE MOMENT NORTHERN KENTUCKY KI NDF O GETTING IN ON THAT LOW IN THE ACTION, BUT DON’T THINK WE’RE DONE WITH IT. PEAK HERE, WE’RE GOING TO ZOOM ALL THE WAY OUT. LOOK TOWARDS SAINT LOUIS FOR THE BACK. OF THIS SYSTEM. SO SNOW STILL HAS TO CEOM THROUGH THIS MORNING AND ANTICIPATE THE POTENTIAL FOR ABOUT ONE TO THREE INCHES OF SNOW. NOW, I THINK THREE IS PROBABLY THE OUTLIER WITH THIS MTOS OF US LEND UP ONE TO TWO INCHES OF FRESH SNOW, BUT THAT’S WHAT’S LEFT FOR US TSHI MORNING OUT OF THIS WHOLE BIG WINTER STORM MORNING SNOWNE O TO THREE INCHES OF ACCUMULATION. IT’LL EXIT AROUND NOON. I TNKHI MOST PLACES SEE BIG IMPROVEMENTS BETWEEN TEN O’CLOCK AND NOON TODAY. UNFORTUNATELY THAT SNOW’S NOT DELTAWAY IN A HURRY. WE’RE STAYING BELOW FREEZING THROUGH THE DAY TOMORROW AND INTO SUNDAY MORNING. SO HERE’S THE HOUR BY HOUR OF THE FUTURECAST AND YOU CAN SEE WHAT WOULD TYPICALLY BE YOUR MORNING RUSH HOUR STEADY SNOW SHOWERS ACROSS THE AREA. SO ENVE ROADS WHERE THE ROAD CREWS WORKED HARD OVERNIGHT TO CLEAR IT. NOW YOU’RE ADDING FRESH POWDERY OWSN ON TOP OF THAT BUT BY THE TIME WE GET TO THE LUNCH HOUR KIND OF ONHE T BKAC SIDE OF THINGS COUPLE STRAGGLER FLURRIES PAST NOON, BUT GENERALLY JUST CLOUDY SKIES AND COLD TEMPERATURES. WE’LL THIS GUY’S CLEAR OUT TONIGHT THAT WILL ALLOW OUR LOWS TO DIVE TO NEAR OR EVEN SUB-ZERO TOMORROW MORNING. NOW THIS MORNING THE GOOD NEWS I HAVE FOR YOU. I STORE MORNING HAS BEEN CANCELED WINTER STORM WARNING HAS BEEN CANCELED ALL OF THOSE HA BVEEEN REPLACED WITH A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR THIS MORNING BECAUSE OF THIS ADDITIONAL SNOWFALL. SO RIGHT NOW AGAIN DOWNTOWN LOOKING. OKAY. WE’RE GETTING A LITTLE LOW IN THE SNOW, BUT THERE’S MORE TO COME 20 DEGREES IS OUR CURRENT TEMPERATURE FEELS LIKE SEVEN. SO NOT THE MOST PLEASANT MORNING TOET G SHOVEL SNOW BOWL SNOW BLOW WHATEVER HAVE TO DO BUT YOU’LL NOTICE TEMPERATURES STAY IN THE TEENS THIS MORNING WINDSHIELD STAY IN THE SINGLE DIGITS THIS AFTERNOON. WE MAKE IT INTO THE LOW 20S. IT’LL FEEL LIKE THE LOW TEENS SO FOR TODAY, IT’S A WEATHER IMPACT DAY 25 DEGREES MORNGNI SNOW PICKING UP ONE TO THREE INCHES OF FSHRE ACCUMATULION WINDY AND COLD AS WE GO INTO TONIGHT DROPPING DOWN TOWO T DEGREES BELOW ZERO DOWNTOWN. THEY’LL BE SPOTS THAT ARE COLDER THAN THAT. THE GOOD NEWS IS THE WINDS ARE SLACK. OFF OVERNIGHT SO WIND CHILL MAY NOT BE AS MUCH OF AN ISSUE. IT’LL JUST BE PLAIN OLD COLD TOMORROW MORNING 25 DEGREES ON SATURDAY AFTERNOON. WE DO GO ABOVE FREEZING SUNDAY TEAFRNOON, AND THEN SOME HIGHS IN THE 40S SOUND REALLY NICE INTO NEXT WEEK AND DRY WEATHER, WHICH IS ALWAYS GREAT TOO AFTER THIS PAST COUPLE
