In Tuesday's Ohio media poll, released the same day as the McDonald's All-American Game roster for the March 29 game in Chicago, Mount Notre Dame remains as the top team in the state in Division I with a perfect 17-0 record.
Notre Dame signee K.K. Bransford, the reigning Ohio Ms. Basketball who leads the Girls Greater Catholic League in points and assists, is one of three local players announced for the McDonald's All-American game roster. Bransford averages 22.8 points per game, 8.8 rebounds and 4.7 assists. She leads a Cougars team that just gave head coach Dr. Scott Rogers his 400th career win when the girls beat Kentucky's Cooper High School over the weekend.
Joining Bransford in the Golden Arches game will be Mason 6-foot-6-inch center Kyla Oldacre of the Greater Miami Conference and sharpshooter Chance Gray of Winton Woods in the Eastern Cincinnati Conference.
Oldacre, signed with the Miami Hurricanes, averages 13.9 points per game, 8.9 rebounds and 3.5 blocks. Gray leads the ECC at 25.4 points per game and also is tops in steals with 3.5. Gray recently signed with Oregon.
Princeton, who defeated MND in December but later had to forfeit is at No. 5 in Ohio Division I this week with Oldacre's Mason Comets at No. 6. The Vikings, coming off of a loss to PIckerington Central, host Lakota West on Wednesday. Mason, who beat Princeton Jan. 12 hosts Lakota East Wednesday.
In the ECC 17-1 Winton Woods also received Division I votes and is two spots out of the Top 10. The Warriors host Loveland Wednesday.
In Division II, 13-4 Badin finished just out of the Top 10 at No. 11. The Rams are at Talawanda Thursday night.
Purcell Marian (15-1) in Division III picked up a pair of first-place votes but finished No. 4 overall. Also from the Miami Valley Conference, Cincinnati Country Day received votes in Division IV. The Nighthawks are No. 12 overall.
