You couldn't have drawn up a better start for Cincinnati.

Bengals safety Jessie Bates III intercepted Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill on Tennessee's first offensive play of Saturday's 19-16 playoff win in Nashville.

Bates picked Tannehill off at the Tennessee 42-yard line. He was tackled for no gain. It set up Evan McPherson's 38-yard field goal - his first of four, including the game-winner - to give the Bengals a 3-0 lead with 12:06 left in the first quarter.

Mike Hilton and Logan Wilson also had interceptions of Tannehill later in the game.

Bates, in his fourth season with Cincinnati, had one interception during the regular season. Saturday's INT was his first in an NFL postseason.
