Penguin parades are back at the Cincinnati Zoo. The zoo's King penguins will parade across zoo grounds every Friday through Sunday (and holiday Mondays) at 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. through the end of February.There's also discounted admission throughout penguin days, costing anywhere from $8 to $9.50, depending on the day.“The zoo is still a wonderful place to visit during the colder months, and the deeply discounted admission that we offer makes it a very affordable outing,” said Cincinnati Zoo director Thane Maynard. “Dress for the weather, and you’ll be as happy as the penguins that you’ll see on parade days.”The morning parade begins at the zoo’s birdhouse and ends at the children’s zoo entrance. In the afternoon, the penguins reverse the route and head back to their indoor habitat.In addition to Penguin Parades, there will be special animal encounters on Saturdays and Sundays. It must be below 50 degrees for the King penguins to go outside, so penguin chats will be offered instead of parades on warmer days. A 15-minute penguin encounter with a rockhopper or Magellanic penguin will take place on each non-holiday Monday at 11 a.m.Guests can warm up indoors while learning about insects, bonobos, manatees, nocturnal animals, monitors of all sizes, and reptiles.
