Cars that have ended up in the Ohio River are getting fished out through a local law enforcement initiative.Cincinnati Police Department and Hamilton County Police Association have partnered with Living Lands & Waters, an Illinois-based nonprofit aimed at improving the environment through river cleanups, tree plantings and other conservation efforts.The six-day project is underway in hopes of finding stolen vehicles or other evidence that could lead to solving a cold case. That might mean pulling plate numbers to solve car thefts, or even finding human remains.No human remains have been found along the 26-mile stretch of the Ohio River being examined. Ten cars have been found so far, but it will take a longer investigation to determine whether any of them were stolen, said Chris Fritsch, Hamilton County Police Association commander.Crews have now done three days of work on Friday, Monday and Tuesday.
