Cincinnati Bengals to face Patriots or Raiders Saturday on NBC

Jan 9, 2022; Cleveland, Ohio, USA; Cincinnati Bengals running back Chris Evans (25) leaps over Cleveland Browns cornerback A.J. Green (38) during the first quarter at FirstEnergy Stadium.

The Cincinnati Bengals, AFC North champions for the first time since 2015, lost Sunday to the Cleveland Browns in Week 18. But their second loss of the season to the Browns doesn't keep Cincinnati - the AFC playoffs' No. 4 seed - from looking forward to a Wild Card Round game against the New England Patriots or Las Vegas Raiders in the NFL playoffs that will take place Saturday at 4:30 p.m. Eastern on NBC.

If the Raiders beat the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday night, the Bengals would host the Raiders next week. If the Chargers win, the Bengals would host the Patriots in their first playoff game. If the Chargers-Raiders game ends in a tie, the Pats would be the Bengals' opponent.

Most surprising about Sunday's 1 p.m. Eastern games was the Indianapolis Colts' loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, potentially opening an improbable door for the 9-7-1 Pittsburgh Steelers - with their overtime win against the Baltimore Ravens - to grab a playoff spot if the Chargers and Raiders don't tie.

The Tennessee Titans are the No. 1 seed, receiving a first-round bye. The Kansas City Chiefs are the No. 2 seed. The Buffalo Bills - AFC East champs - are the No. 3 seed.
