Wright-Patterson moves to highest protection level

Wright Patterson Air Force Base

Wright-Patterson Air Force Base upgraded to Health Protection Condition Delta on Friday, putting it at the highest level under the base's health protection system.

In a release, officials said they were declaring the public health emergency due to the rising numbers of confirmed COVID-19 cases

Col. Patrick Miller, the 88th Air Base Wing, and installation commander, said the switch to Delta refocuses the base on its safety protocols and precautions and emphasizes the situation's seriousness.

It will mean more employees will shift to remote work and reduced facility capacity.

"The Airmen at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base are our No. 1 priority, and we take every precaution necessary to protect their health and safety," Miller said in a statement.
