Man accused of stabbing ex-girlfriend in Covington


A man has been arrested on an attempted murder charge, accused of stabbing his ex-girlfriend multiple times on a sidewalk in Covington, Kentucky. Donte Cammon was arrested Friday morning by the Cincinnati Police Department, days after a Tuesday evening stabbing. According to Covington police, Cammon stabbed a woman around 5:15 p.m. in the 600 block of Scott Boulevard. Authorities say they found the woman unresponsive of a sidewalk, suffering from a stab wound to her chest and two stab wounds to her upper back. Investigators say Cammon and the victim had ended a 10-month relationship earlier in the day. The victim, who has not been identified, then traveled to Covington where Cammon approached her outside of a cold shelter, and stabbed her multiple times, police said. After the attack, Cammon allegedly ran away, throwing his knife under a nearby car, according to investigators. The woman remains at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center in serious but stable condition. Authorities say the attack was witnessed by multiple people, and captured on nearby security video.Cammon is being held in the Hamilton County Detention Center, being held on a parole violation warrant and attempted murder charges in Covington.
