An 8-year-old girl has been recognized for being insistent on doing the right thing after she found a wallet in Kenton County.The Kenton County Police Department said the 8-year-old named Madalyn found the wallet containing $500. The wallet did not have an identification card inside of it.According to police, Madalyn immediately took the wallet to her grandma and told her grandma that they needed to call the police to help find whoever it belonged to.Officer Allgeier responded to the scene and said he was impressed by how insistent Madalyn was to do the right thing.Because of Madalyn, officers were able to find the owner of the wallet and return it to him.Kenton County awarded Madalyn with a Citizen Citation Award for her honesty and integrity. Allgeier, who was representing the Kenton County Police FOP 44, also awarded the 8-year-old with a $500 gift card."Great job, Madalyn! Thank you for being an example for all of us," the Kenton County Police Department wrote on Facebook Tuesday.
