The Hamilton County Coroner’s Office today identified the woman killed in a hit-and-run traffic crash in West Price Hill on Christmas Day as 28-year-old Ladre Gibson of Delhi Township.
The coroner’s office said she died Dec. 25 at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
Cincinnati police said Gibson was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Classic west on West 8th Street and an unknown person was driving a 2018 Hyundai Tucson behind her shortly before the wreck at about 2:30 a.m.
As Gibson began turning onto Trenton Avenue, she was struck by the unknown person, who had driven left of the marked center line in the 4100 block of West 8th Street and into her, police said.
Police said both vehicles overturned, and the Hyundai driver left the scene on foot.
Gibson was taken to the hospital, where she died.
Police have not said whether they have any leads on who was driving the Hyundai at the time of the crash, although they say the driver was not wearing a seatbelt and that excessive speed and impairment appear to be factors in the wreck.
Officers don’t know if Gibson was wearing a seatbelt.
